Terms of Service
Effective date:
These terms govern the CactiClient website, launcher, and client software provided by CactiMastr, an independent developer based in Australia. “We”, “us”, and “our” refer to CactiMastr. Contact us at contact@cactimaster.dev.
By downloading, installing, or using CactiClient, you agree to these terms to the extent they form an enforceable agreement under applicable law. If you do not agree, do not download or use the software. Our Privacy Policy explains information handling; accepting these terms does not replace any separate privacy consent required by law.
1. About CactiClient
CactiClient is a free, independent launcher and client for Minecraft: Java Edition. Depending on the supported version and release, it can manage local launcher settings and Minecraft accounts, download necessary game components, and launch standard or supported modded profiles.
CactiClient is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft and related names, assets, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Using CactiClient does not give you ownership of Minecraft or replace the need for a valid Minecraft licence.
There are currently no separate CactiClient accounts, subscriptions, paid purchases, or public user-content hosting features. Minecraft access, internet service, and third-party services may have their own costs.
2. Eligibility and account responsibilities
You must be at least 13 years old to use CactiClient. If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parent or guardian. You must also meet any age, parental-consent, and account requirements imposed by Microsoft, Minecraft, and applicable law.
Use only accounts you own or are authorised to use, and maintain the Minecraft entitlement required for the version you launch. You are responsible for protecting your computer, account credentials, and session files. CactiClient does not create a Microsoft or Minecraft account for you and cannot restore an account suspended by another provider.
You are responsible for reviewing the permissions and requirements of servers, mods, and integrations you choose to use. Keep backups of worlds, settings, and other important files before installing updates or modifying a game instance.
3. Permission to use and commercial activities
Subject to these terms and any applicable third-party licences, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to download, install, and use official CactiClient releases on devices you own or are authorised to use.
You may use CactiClient for personal play, monetised videos and livestreams, and lawful activities connected with a Minecraft server business. These permissions do not give you permission to violate Minecraft’s commercial-use rules, a server’s rules, or another party’s rights.
You must obtain our written permission before selling CactiClient, charging for access to a redistributed copy, or distributing a repackaged or rebranded CactiClient release. Linking to the official download page and accurately discussing or reviewing CactiClient are permitted. Permission requests can be sent to contact@cactimaster.dev.
Nothing in this section restricts permissions independently granted by a third-party or open-source licence, or rights that applicable law does not allow us to restrict. These terms do not grant a separate licence to unpublished source code or third-party branding.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use CactiClient or the website to:
- Break applicable law, infringe intellectual-property rights, or use another person’s account without authorisation.
- Bypass Minecraft ownership checks or access restrictions, steal credentials, distribute malware, or interfere with another person’s systems.
- Attack, overload, or attempt unauthorised access to the website or associated infrastructure.
- Misrepresent a modified release as an official CactiClient release or claim endorsement by CactiMastr, Mojang, or Microsoft without permission.
- Use client features in ways prohibited by the rules of a server you join.
We do not guarantee that a server will permit CactiClient or every client feature. Server operators and third-party providers determine their own restrictions and enforcement decisions.
5. Third-party software and services
CactiClient relies on services and components supplied by others, including Microsoft and Minecraft authentication and downloads, Fabric components, GitHub-hosted releases, Vercel hosting, and Discord Rich Presence. Those providers may change or discontinue their services and impose separate terms and privacy policies.
You must comply with the Minecraft EULA, Minecraft Usage Guidelines, and other applicable provider terms. Our permission to use CactiClient cannot override those requirements.
Third-party mods, servers, links, and unofficial distributions are controlled by their respective operators. Review them before use. We do not endorse a third-party product solely because CactiClient can launch a profile or connect to a service that uses it.
6. Updates, support, and availability
CactiClient is an independently maintained project. Features and supported versions may change, and compatibility with all hardware, mods, game releases, servers, or third-party services is not guaranteed. We do not promise a particular support response time, uninterrupted availability, or indefinite maintenance of a release.
We may publish updates, change supported features, or discontinue the project. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of changes that materially affect existing use. New charges, subscriptions, or materially different services would require clear information and any agreement required by law; these terms do not authorise us to charge you automatically.
Download releases from the official website or its linked release source. You decide whether to install an update, subject to any requirements necessary to use a changed third-party service.
7. Ownership and third-party licences
CactiClient’s original software, website content, and branding remain the property of CactiMastr or their respective rights holders. You retain ownership of your own worlds, screenshots, videos, and other original content; ordinary use of the launcher does not transfer that ownership to us.
Bundled or downloaded libraries, game components, fonts, artwork, and other third-party materials remain subject to their own rights and licences. Where a component’s licence gives you rights different from these terms, that licence governs the component. Do not remove notices required by those licences.
8. Consumer rights, warranties, and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The fact that CactiClient is free does not itself waive rights provided by law.
Subject to those rights, CactiClient is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not make additional promises that it will always be error-free, secure against every threat, fit for every particular purpose, or compatible with every environment.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by services outside our control, unauthorised modifications, your breach of these terms, or events we could not reasonably prevent. Any limitation is subject to the circumstances and applicable law. No limitation in these terms applies to fraud, deliberate misconduct, or liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
If you experience a problem, contact contact@cactimaster.dev with relevant details. We will consider the issue and any remedy required by applicable law. Do not send passwords or authentication tokens.
9. Ending your use
You may stop using CactiClient at any time. Uninstalling the launcher may leave local settings, account caches, or game files on your device. The Privacy Policy describes your options for removing local information.
If you materially breach these terms, we may withdraw permissions granted by us or restrict access to infrastructure we control, subject to applicable law. Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we will explain the issue and allow an opportunity to resolve it. This does not give us control over your Microsoft account or permit deletion of your local files.
10. Governing law, disputes, and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. This choice does not prevent you from exercising consumer rights or bringing a claim in a forum available to you under applicable law.
Please contact contact@cactimaster.dev first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator or seeking another lawful remedy.
We may update these terms and will identify the new effective date. Material changes will receive reasonable notice through the website or another appropriate channel. Changes operate prospectively and do not remove accrued rights. Where required, we will seek your agreement before applying changed terms.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it for every future occasion.
