Privacy Policy

Effective date:

CactiClient is an independent Minecraft launcher and client operated by CactiMastr, based in Australia. This policy explains information handling for the CactiClient software and client.cactimaster.dev. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to CactiMastr.

For privacy enquiries, contact contact@cactimaster.dev. CactiClient is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

1. Information on your device

The launcher processes information needed to sign in, select an account, and launch Minecraft. This includes Minecraft account identifiers and usernames, Xbox gamertags, skin URLs, authentication tokens, session information, and account-access timestamps. The launcher receives authentication results from Microsoft and Minecraft services; you enter your Microsoft password through Microsoft’s sign-in process, not into a CactiClient password form.

Account records and sign-in caches are stored locally on your computer. The launcher protects its account-record file using Windows protection tied to your Windows user account. Authentication libraries also maintain a local sign-in cache. We do not claim that every local file is encrypted or that a compromised computer cannot access session data.

Launcher preferences, game-directory choices, memory and resolution settings, background playback preferences, client module settings, game files, and diagnostic files may also be stored locally. The launcher reads available memory and display resolution to offer suitable settings. Default launcher data is under your Windows local application-data directory in the CactiClient folder; game data can use a directory you select.

These local records are not automatically uploaded to a CactiClient-operated account database. Local processing and requests to Microsoft, Minecraft, and other services are still necessary for the features described below.

2. Website information and browser storage

The website is hosted on Vercel. Serving a page or download request necessarily exposes technical information to the hosting provider, such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser or device information. Vercel may process request and security data to deliver the website, prevent abuse, and operate its infrastructure. This is separate from collecting launcher logs or Minecraft account details.

The homepage stores a background-image index in your browser’s local storage and navigation state so consecutive reloads choose different images. This value does not contain your account details, and the website does not send it to us. You can remove it by clearing this website’s browser storage; blocking storage may affect whether the preference persists.

The current website has no CactiClient registration, payment form, or user-upload feature. Its code does not set advertising cookies or include an advertising tracker. Third-party services you visit through links may use their own cookies and storage.

3. Analytics and diagnostics

CactiClient does not currently include a dedicated analytics or automatic crash-reporting integration. We do not currently receive automatic uploads of launcher logs or local account records.

Analytics are planned, but a provider and collection scope have not been selected. Before enabling analytics, we will update this policy to identify the provider, information collected, purposes, retention, and available choices, and implement any consent or other safeguards required by applicable law. This statement does not remove the ordinary hosting and third-party request processing described in this policy.

4. Contact and support information

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to answer your enquiry, investigate problems, handle privacy requests, and keep necessary correspondence records. Email service providers also process messages to deliver and store them.

Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, sign-in codes, or account-cache files. Review logs and screenshots before sharing them, and remove information you do not want us to receive. Providing support information is voluntary, although limited information may prevent us from investigating an issue.

5. Third-party services and disclosures

  • Microsoft, Xbox, and Minecraft: sign-in, account ownership and profile checks, game downloads, and skin requests involve these services. Their handling is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement and applicable Minecraft terms.
  • GitHub: software downloads supplied through GitHub involve requests to GitHub and its delivery infrastructure. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • Vercel: website hosting and download routing involve Vercel. See the Vercel Privacy Notice.
  • Fabric: installing a supported modded profile may request loader metadata or related downloads from Fabric infrastructure. These requests expose normal connection information to the recipient.
  • Discord: when Discord is running and the launcher’s Rich Presence integration connects, the launcher sends activity information to your local Discord application, including that you are in the launcher and an activity start time. Discord may display that activity according to your Discord settings and processes it under its Privacy Policy. You can manage activity visibility in Discord or close Discord to prevent the local integration from connecting.
  • Minecraft servers and other modifications: connecting to a server or installing other modifications may expose information to their operators. Their practices are outside this policy.

We may disclose information you provide where reasonably necessary to obtain service-provider support, meet a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request, or protect against misuse. We limit such disclosures to information needed for that purpose.

Service providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Their policies describe their international processing. Where applicable law requires safeguards for our disclosures, we will comply with those requirements.

6. Retention and security

Local account records, preferences, downloads, and game files generally remain on your device until removed or replaced. Removing an account through the launcher removes its saved account entry and attempts to remove the corresponding cached Microsoft sign-in account. It does not delete your Microsoft account, remove all game files, or necessarily revoke every session held by a third party.

We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to address the enquiry, resolve related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Hosting and third-party records follow the relevant provider’s retention practices and settings; we cannot promise immediate deletion from systems we do not control.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your Windows account, keep software updated, and avoid sharing authentication files. Uninstalling the launcher may leave local data behind.

7. Your choices, requests, and complaints

You can remove saved launcher accounts, clear website storage, manage Discord activity visibility, and use Microsoft’s account controls to manage permissions and sessions. Back up any worlds or other files you want to keep before removing local game data.

To ask what information we hold about you, request access, correction, or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, email contact@cactimaster.dev. We may request proportionate information to verify your request. We will assess it under applicable law, explain any limitations, and respond within a reasonable time or the period required by law. We cannot retrieve data that exists only on your device or delete records independently controlled by another provider.

If our response does not resolve your concern, you may contact the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your complaint. In Australia, this may be the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, where its jurisdiction applies.

8. Children and young users

CactiClient is intended for users aged 13 and over. Users under 18 must have parent or guardian permission and comply with Microsoft’s age, consent, and family-account requirements in their location. We do not intentionally seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe such information has been provided to us, contact us so we can assess and address it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as CactiClient or its information handling changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be explained on the website or through another appropriate notice before new processing begins, and we will obtain consent where required. Contact contact@cactimaster.dev with any questions.
